How the Lesson Timer Works

My CE Space courses use a lesson timer to document the required continuing-education time. You must allow the Time Remaining countdown to finish before moving to the next lesson.

Completing a Lesson

Each lesson may include options to watch, listen, or read.

1. Open the lesson.

2. Choose the learning format that works best for you.

3. Complete the lesson while the timer counts down.

4. Wait for Time Remaining to change to Lesson Complete.

5. Select the Next (>) arrow to continue.

The Next arrow will remain locked until the required lesson time has passed.

Using a Computer

For the most reliable experience, keep the course lesson open and active while watching, listening, or reading.

Switching to another browser tab, window, or application for several minutes may cause the timer to pause. When you return to the lesson, the timer should resume from where it stopped.

You do not need to move your mouse continuously while watching a video. The timer should continue while the video is playing on the lesson page.

Using a Phone or Tablet

Videos may begin playing automatically without sound. Select Tap for sound if this message appears.

Audio may continue playing when you lock your screen or use another application. However, background playback and timer behavior can vary depending on your phone, tablet, browser, and device settings.

For the most reliable completion:

• Keep the course open in your browser.

• Avoid closing the lesson or browser.

• Return to the lesson page before the audio finishes.

• Keep the screen awake if you notice the timer pausing.

If the Timer Stops

If the countdown appears to stop:

1. Return to the course lesson.

2. Tap the page or restart the video or audio if necessary.

3. Keep the lesson open and active.

4. Allow the countdown to finish.

Your completed time should not be lost. The timer normally resumes from the point where it paused.

If the Video or Audio Ends Before the Timer

The lesson timer and media player operate separately. If the video or audio ends while time remains, stay on the lesson page and review the written material until the timer changes to Lesson Complete.

If the Next Arrow Is Still Locked

The Next arrow unlocks only after the timer reaches zero. Attempting to select Next early will not advance the course.

If the timer says Lesson Complete but the arrow remains locked, refresh the lesson once. If the problem continues, contact My CE Space Support.

• The course and lesson name

• The device you are using

• Your browser

• A screenshot showing the timer or locked arrow

• A short description of what happened
